HOW CAN I REDEPLOY OFFICIALLY
Officially NYSC deployment is set up by the NYSC committee and students are not allowed to choose for themselves, you cannot be sent to your state of origin reason been that, the one year programme is an avenue for youths to serve their country and garner the specialised experienced needed before stepping into the labour market, it familiarise them with the employment environment.
If students are asked to pick a state a lot of things will happen as Few states will be overcrowded and Most states will have no serving corp members. Corp members will be left stranded when the few good states get occupied.
Now as a corp member who has already been deployed to a certain state and wishes to be redeployed they would have to fall into one or two of these categories:
1. If the corp. Member faces potential danger in his/her state of service:
In situations where a corp. member is posted to a state and an uprising occurs, that threatens the life of the corp Member. He or she can apply for redeployment stating reasons and how threatening the environment is. Noted however that this rule would not apply to riots and community vandalism but to national known occurrences, such as presently we have a lot of killings and blasts going on in the northern states, if peradventure a corp Member is sent to Adamawa, Bauchi, Bornu, Gombe, Jigawa,Yobe and Kano state he or she will be camping in Niger, Plateau, Nassarawa, Benue,Kaduna, Fact and possibly Kogi respectively. Please note that all these states will be joining Osun and Lagos B in September as NYSC 2014 Batch B stream B. Each corp member can easily apply for redeployment as it is a national known fact that the environment is life threatening. Information for living, while speaking to one of the state coordinators of the affected states made it clear that you can redeploy. In his word he said, 'It is as simple as ABC. Please understand that one mans food is another mans poison, with regards to that some individual who love to serve in this affected states will be conveyed to their individual states for their primary assignment. While those who applied for redeployment will be redeployed to a state that is relatively safer. Though it might not be the exact state they choose, but it will be in a state within their region of choice. So please stop murmuring or blaming yourself should you find yourself posted to these states.
2. Life threatening medical conditions:
Accidents, epidemic or terminal diseases that require frequent and special care from a specific physician can give you easy access to redeployment. If a corp Member sustains an injury or is involved in an accident that puts him/her in a critical state, such a person can be redeployed to where he would undergo special care.
In cases of terminal diseases like leukaemia, asthma etc. where the patient has a specific doctor and needs regular check-up, redeployment is allowed granted you provide and authentic doctor’s report. Please note that NYSC is officially out to approve all Doctors reports and will properly sanction any forgery.
3. Married and spouse is in a different state:
This is very common as most married women and posted to their spouse’s state of residence and in the event she was not posted there, she can apply to change of state and it will granted with evidence of marriage of course.
Married and pregnant with spouse in different state Pregnant women also get redeployed to spouse’s state of residence.
To be redeployed following the above conditions,you will need to provide the certificate of marriage,a doctor’s report that proves you are pregnant or ill and must be treated within a specific state,it will be a proven fact that the state of primary assignment is undergoing a crisis which you are facing danger.
